New Year’s Resolutions
The New Year is often the time we refleCT on the year that has passed and we set new goals and ambitions for the year ahead. This is fantastic, but how often do you get to the end of January and you can barely remember what your resolutions are, let alone begIn to achieve them? Yep, us too!
Making Sure You Achieve Your Goals
The best way to achieve your long term goals in 2017 is to set short term, easy to achieve goals. Set yourself monthly, weekly and even daily tasks which help you to reach your longer term goals.
For example, if you have decided this is the year you’d like to drop that excess half a stone then set yourself a goal of 1/2 a lb per week. Then set yourself a daily goal which helps you achieve this, like taking a lunch break everyday to walk into the local town or around the park.
You’ll soon be into brand new routines that lead you to your longer term goal!
Perhaps you’d like to read more? Your long term goal might be that you read 12 books this year which sounds like quite a task. But if you break this down into 1 book per month and work out 30 minutes of reading every evening helps you achieve this you’re much more likely to stick with it.
So you get the gist right? Goal setting is a great idea, but setting yourself an achievable plan to get there will ensure come New Years Eve 2017 you can sit smug-faced whilst everyone else presses the refresh button on their goals.
Good Luck and all the best for 2017 from everyone at UFIT!
